Good Afternoon folks and thanks for tuning in to another weekly update from Des Moines Gaming Club! Just on Sunday we hosted our now soon-to-be every single month B-Side FGC tournament! We had tournaments in Vampire Savior, Dragon Ball FighterZ, GranBlue Fantasy Versus, and Street Fighter 3 3rd Strike. All of these but GranBlue were won by Top Hat with GranBlue being won by Wonderful Deluxe. At least though, Top Hat was kind enough to bring halloween candy for everyone so that at least somewhat makes up for him nearly running the table. Also, a shout out to Azu who ran another successful Samurai Showdown side tournament in which he was the winner, but props to him for giving the prize money to 2nd and 3rd place since he won his own tournament. The B-Side tournament is always a lot of fun and like I said we are planning on doing this on a Sunday every month now since there are always plenty of different FGC games to play!
As for this upcoming week at the club, the schedule is as follows. Casual play today from 1-4pm and then again from 6:30-10pm since we host the Norwalk Youth Esports club from 4:30-6:30. Then we are open Wednesday and Thursday from 1pm-10pm, and Friday 1pm-11pm. We are closed Saturday and Sunday. That means the weekly tournament schedule is our FGC night Wednesday from 6-10pm with casual games in a variety of different games plus official tournaments in guilty gear strive and street fighter 5. Thursday night is Smash Bros. with squad strike and p+ starting at 6:30 followed by singles in ultimate and melee around 7:15. Finally, Friday night is FIFA 23 at 7pm and no rocket league since we will be closed on Sunday.
Next up to discuss is the next Downtown Duels! Our bi-monthly Smash Bros. tournament is back and happening Saturday, November 19th! Doubles in ultimate and melee will start at Noon and singles will start at 1:30pm. As usual the venue fee is $7, $5 if you bring a setup. With pot entry being $5 for doubles tournaments and $8 for singles tournaments. DMGC will be offering $100 in pot bonuses split between ultimate and melee singles. The start.gg page will be created soon and the official announcement will be on our social media pages likely on Thursday.
That’l do it for today’s Tuesday Telecast, thanks for watching and we’ll see you next week.
