Good Morning folks, welcome back to another Tuesday Telecast from Des Moines Gaming Club. This week’s update will be brief but we are sharing some important news. The Club will be closed this Friday and Saturday. My good friend Gabe, who is the first founding member of Des Moines Gaming Club, is getting married this weekend so I will actually be busy Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Ethan is attending the Dew Tour at the Skatepark downtown Friday and Saturday but he will be covering Sunday so with all this in mind our schedule this week is casual play available Tuesday-Thursday 1pm-10pm, we are closed Friday and Saturday, and the back open on Sunday from 11am-5pm. Our weekly tournament schedule is FGC night Wednesday from 6-10 with official tournaments in Guilty Gear Strive and Tekken 7 with plenty of other games to play friendlies. Thursday night is Smash Bros. with Doubles at 6:30 followed by singles around 7pm in both Ultimate and Melee. No FIFA 22 on Friday since we’re closed and then Rocket League is still on at 1pm on Sunday.
That’l do it for updates from the club but before I end the video I want to mention a big event happening next month. Run, Don’t Walk Des Moine’s new Smash Bros. Regional will be taking place on Saturday, August 27th in West Des Moines. It’s being run by Trejohn and Slowking and it already has over 70 entrants. Right Melee has $300 of pot bonus and Ultimate has $100 of pot bonus but that’s going to at least get to $200 because Des Moines Gaming Club is going help sponsor the event by providing $100 of pot bonus for Ultimate. The Smash Bros. community has been huge supporters of DMGC so this is the least we can do. Since opening the Club I’ve been really impressed with the Smash community and I really believe that Run, Don’t Walk can turn into a regularly held, legitimate midwest Regional tournament and I think Des Moines Smash scene should and can support such an event. The sign up page is on start.gg so head over there now and search for Run, Don’t Walk and get signed up today!
That’l do it for this week’s update from the club, thanks so much for watching and we’ll see you next week!
