Tuesday Telecast October 5th, 2021

Hello and welcome to another Tuesday Telecast here from Des Moines Gaming Club. As of today we are implementing a new schedule for weekly tournaments. Tuesday’s at 7pm is FGC with tournaments in Guilty Gear Strive, Tekken 7, & Street Fighter V. Every week we are going to swap either Tekken or Street Fighter with the new Game Melty Blood Type Lumina. So tonight for example we are swapping it in for Tekken so we will do a tournament in Melty, Guilty Gear, and Street Fighter. Next week Melty will be swapped in for Street Fighter. We will work on updating our website so that you can check there to know for sure rather than remembering what week it is. Moving on though we will be having our Smash Bros. weekly on Wednesdays at 7pm, Thursday’s at 7pm we are now starting FIFA 22 tournaments and then finally Friday’s at 7pm is still our Rocket League tournaments and this week the Rocket League tournament will be a solos tournament.

We have heard from the sign company and they have let us know that our signs are to be installed on the 13th. It would have been installed this week but apparently they had truck issues and got behind on their schedule. Super anxious to get those signs installed on the outside because it’s going to look great!

Our casual play schedule is regular this week with one exception. Today Thursday is normal being open from 1pm-10pm, Friday is normal being open 1pm-11pm, Saturday is the exception because the club will be closed from 3pm-6pm for a private event. But before and after that event we will be open for casual play. We have the private listed on our website showing that the club is closed during that time as well. Finally, Sunday is regular hours too being open 11am-5pm.

We’d also like to announce our first FGC Monthly, Clash in the Capital, which will be held Saturday October 30th at Noon here at DMGC. We will be hosting 1v1 double elimination tournaments in Guilty Gear Strive, Tekken 7, Street Fighter V, and Melty Blood Type Lumina. The club will be closed for casual play that day FYI. More details to come on this monthly but we are pretty excited about this one.

That’l do it for news and updates from the Club, let’s move on to some esports industry news. Probably the biggest and most popular international esport event of the year has started today and of course I am talking about the League of Legends World Championship. Currently live on Twitch and Youtube with well over 350,000 viewers across both platforms. Worlds has the 22 best teams from all over the world in Reykjavik, Iceland. Today marks the start of the tournament and the start of the group stage. To view the schedule of matches and where each of the teams are placed in the groups, check out lolesports.com. We will have Worlds on our TVs here at the Club for the duration of the tournament so if you want to watch, be sure to come out!

The final DLC character for Smash Bros Ultimate has been announced and it is none other than Sora from Kingdom Hearts. Sora is the 82nd playable character if you don’t count the echo fighters and Sora’s first prominent attribute is that they are wielding the famous key sword from the Kingdom Hearts games, it will be fun to see how Sora matches up against the other fighters.

Finally, FIFA 22 has launched with a bang over this past weekend. It is really garnering the attention of the footballing world especially after its competitor eSoccer, formerly known as Pro Evolution Soccer has launched too horrific reviews with players posting horrible glitches and bad graphics. We are excited to start hosting regular weekly tournaments in FIFA 22 as I myself am a big fan of soccer and FIFA.

That’l do it for today’s update, thanks so much for watching and we’ll see you next time!
