Good Afternoon and welcome back to another Tuesday Telecast here from Des Moines Gaming Club. First thing I want to mention today is the Smash Bros Monthly we are hosting two Saturdays from September 25th at Noon. It is 1v1 double elimination tournaments in both Ultimate and Melee. As it is a monthly, we are providing $100 of extra prize money! Be sure to sign up on our website or through smashgg. We will continue to post about on our Facebook and Twitter and we will have links there to sign up as well. The tournaments will start at 12:30 and we expect it to be an all day event with a large turnout of participants. This means casual play will not be open FYI. We are super excited about this and can’t wait to see how it goes. Since we expect quite a few more people than would normally attend a local, we are requiring masks regardless of vaccination status so please be aware of that and know that we will strictly enforce that policy. We will have masks on hand if folks need them.
Moving on, this week we have a normal schedule of casual play. And that is Tuesday-Thursday 1pm-10pm, Friday & Saturday 1pm-11pm, and Sunday 11am-5pm, and of course we are closed Mondays. For local tournaments we have FGC tomorrow night at 7pm, Smash Bros Thursday night at 7pm, and Rocket League at 7pm on Friday night.
As many of you have seen, we finally got our window vinyl decals applied to our door so now people actually can for sure know exactly where Des Moines Gaming Club is located. They look pretty darn good and we are pumped for when the bigger illuminated logo and words will go up right above our entrance because that is going to look awesome. That signage should be up by the end of the month.
Now, for a bit of esports industry news. Professional Valorant continues to grow and now all eyes are on the Valorant Champions Tour Masters Berlin tournament which is the last chance for teams to earn points ahead of the Valorant Championship in Los Angeles. Sentinels and G2 have locked up playoff spots in Group D with F4Q being eliminated. Envy topped Group B with a win over KRU Esports and the last thing of note is that only 15 of the 16 original teams will be competing at Berlin because team Bren had to withdraw due to VISA issues.
In CSGO team NaVi are making headlines as the most inform team in the world led by superstar S1mple. S1mple has always been known as one of the best of all time but has never won a major. All eyes are set on next months major in Stockholm because NaVi are heavy favorites. Will S1mple break the curse or will he continue to go without a major victory?
That’s gonna do it for today’s update, thank you so much for watching and if you want to stay up to date with Des Moines’s premier esports venue make sure to like the video and subscribe to our YouTube channel. See you at the Club soon!
