Tuesday Telecast August 10th, 2021

Hello and welcome back to yet another Tuesday Telecast, the Club’s weekly update. As many of you know, today we have a big update as we can finally reveal where Des Moines Gaming Club will be moving to next. Our next location will be 423 SW 8th St, Des Moines, IA 50309. It is a flex-space located just south of Downtown. It has some office space upfront and then a nice warehouse space in the back. Being downtown is what our long-term preferred location was and so when the news came that we had to move, we hoped that we could find a place there. Thankfully, we did, and the folks over at Eychaner Properties have been amazing to work with and we believe we are in real good hands leasing this property from them.

The plan is still to be closed Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday August 15th-17th so that we can move and set up. That may change due to all of the moving parts involved with the move so if it does change we will be sure to let everyone know. Our new location is 3,030 sq ft. which is actually about 1,000 sq. ft. bigger than our current space. With this location, we believe Des Moines Gaming Club will have a much higher visibility which is something that we’re excited about. It will be MUCH easier for folks to find and to get to. There is parking right out front up to about 30-40 spaces, if we ever host a bigger event. The landlords own a 250+ parking lot that is 2 blocks they said we could use so we are good on parking. Another huge pro to our new space is that, with the direct access to our suite, we can of course set our own hours and not have to worry about mall hours as far as getting in and leaving, or possibly being locked if you wanted to go grab something from your car. Now, rent is definitely going to be higher at this new location but it would have been anywhere we went because we had a heck of a deal in place at the Southridge Mall but it is affordable and we believe the pros far outweigh the cost.

I know that this new location will be closer to a lot of folks but I do want to say that we will be sad to leave the Southridge area. Again, it wasn’t our long term plan to stay at the Southridge Mall but it was a fantastic place to get the business started. We will still be working closely with RezBlue Arena and all the business owners at the Runway Studios who will be finding their new homes soon as well. Even though we were only there for 2 months, it was so nice to see people from the south side community come in and enjoy the space. We’ve already got a lot of things in the works at the new space like Internet, insurance, and signage on the outside of the suite.

I really want to thank everyone who has shown support for us since the announcement. We are so thankful for the community and we promise to do everything we can to make Des Moines Gaming Club a fun, welcoming place to play video games casually and competitively. Now, we can’t wait to get everything moved and set up at the new place. It’s going to look awesome for sure!

So this week is going to be like a usual week except for that we’ll be closed Sunday the 15th but that means that today we are open from Noon to 9pm and that holds true all the way through Saturday for casual play. Tomorrow we have our FGC night at 7pmwith tournaments in Street Fighter V, Guilty Gear Strive, and Tekken 7. Thursday at 7pm is our Smash Bros night with tournaments in both Ultimate and Melee. Friday night at 7pm is our Rocket League tournament, and Saturday at 6:30pm is our Warzone tournament. So be sure to come out sometime this week either for a tournament or casual play before the end of Saturday and celebrate our Southridge location because it is not long for this world!

As always, please reach out if you have any questions whatsoever. We can be reached by email at info@dsmgamignclub.com, by phone at 515-850-2197, or by direct message on Facebook or Twitter. That will do it for today’s update, and as always, thanks for watching and we’ll see you at the Club!
