Good afternoon everyone and thank you for watching another Tuesday Telecast from Des Moines Gaming Club. We’ve got a regular week ahead of us as far as our schedule goes being open from 1pm-10pm Tuesday-Thursday, 1pm-11pm Friday and Saturday, and then 11am-5pm on Sunday.
Our tournament schedule is pretty normal too except for one addition on Saturday. Wednesday at 7pm we have a FIFA 21 tournament. Thursday night we have our smash bros local with doubles at 6:30 and singles starting by at 7pm. Friday at 7pm we have our FGC weekly with the official tournament being Soul Caliber VI! Saturday at 2pm we are hosting a 4v4 Call of Duty Vanguard pro-style tournament and then Sunday at 1pm we have our weekly Rocket League tournament.
With the Call of Duty tournament on Saturday, depending on turnout, there might not be many PCs available for casual play while the tournament is going. The tournament will be played on PCs and so if we have two teams of 4 playing a match that only leaves 2 PCs available. It will likely only take a couple of hours so most of the PCs should be available by 5pm I would think but just wanted to put that out there.
Tonight at the Club we are excited to host Bryan with Noobs and Pros who is a local video game content creator. Bryan has a cool idea for video series and we were honored when he reached out to us to see if he could host that video series here at Des Moines Gaming Club. Sounds like it’s gonna be a lot of fun to watch but I won’t spoil anymore of if it until the video comes at which point we’ll be sure to share it on our social platforms. So keep an eye out for that.
Next, we’ll move on to some esports industry news.
Valorant’s first world championship is underway right now in Berlin, Germany. It is the 2nd Major after Master’s Iceland but this is the first tournament to have teams from all over the world. 16 teams to be exact are battling it out crowned champions. As with Master’s Iceland and other Valorant tournaments, Master’s Berlin continues to pull in massive viewership. Be sure to tune in on Twitch to catch all the action. Elimination matches are happening this week with the Grand Final set to take place this Sunday December 12th.
Halo Infinite’s first Major esport event is set to take place soon in Raleigh, NC. The Halo Championship Series or HCS has been resurrected as has the entire Halo franchise with the release of Halo Infinite. It will take place, on LAN, from Friday December 17th to Sunday December 19th. There has been a lot of hype and popularity surrounding the new Halo game so it will be interesting to see what kind of viewership this event pulls. We’ll be sure to have it up on the TV’s here at DMGC for sure.
That’l do it for this week’s update from DMGC. Thanks again for watching and have a great day!
