Good Morning gamers, and thanks for tuning in to our weekly update from Des Moines Gaming Club. Gonna be a brief video today as my wife and I are both taking today off from work so the Club will be closed today. We’ll be back open tomorrow with our regular hours and the whole rest of the week will be normal as well. So no DMGC today but we will be open Wednesday and Thursday 1pm-10pm, Friday and Saturday 1pm-11pm, and Sunday 11am-5pm. Our weekly tournament schedule is normal as well with our FGC night Wednesday from 6-10pm we’ll have tournaments in Guilty Gear Strive and possibly DNF Duel that will start around 7. Thursday night is our Smash Bros. weekly with squad strike at 6:30 and singles to follow. Friday night is FIFA 22 at 7pm and Sunday is Rocket League at 1pm.
This past Saturday we hosted our 5th Smash Bros. Monthly Downtown Duels! We had a great turnout of over 50 competitors and a handful of spectators. So many fantastic players showed up for both Ultimate and Melee so there were plenty of hot sets. Congrats to Card and Slowking who won Melee Doubles, Skittles and Sandy who won Ultimate Doubles, Slowking who won Melee singles, and Skar who won Ultimate singles. Huge shout out to Trejohn and Gunla who do a lot in helping run the Smash events here at DMGC. Also a special thanks to Ghost who provided some cool blender bottles that we were able to give to the first place finishers of the singles events. As always it’s a pleasure hosting these Smash events and it’s so much fun seeing everyone come out. Thank you and we can’t wait for the next Downtown Duels which happens every other month on a Saturday.
Next up for our monthly tournaments is our FGC B-Side tournament which is this Sunday July 10th! Our first two tournaments of the day start at 12:30 and they are Vampire Savior and Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 which will then be followed by the new DNF Duel and BlazBlue Central Fiction at 2pm. Pot fees for each tournament is $5, the venue fee for the day is $7, but only $5 if you bring a setup. There will be $10 of pot bonus added to each of the tournaments! And of course, you do not have to enter any tournaments if you would prefer to just come and play friendlies you can do so by simply paying the venue fee. You can sign up online for this B-Side tournament on start.gg by searching for the des moines b-side or you can simply show up before the tournament on sunday and sign up in person. Can’t wait!
And that’l do it for today’s quick Tuesday Telecast. Thank you for watching and we’ll see you soon!
