Morning Everyone, Dan again here with Des Moines Gaming Club. Guess what folks, it may get up to 45, maybe even 50 degrees today and I personally couldn’t be more excited because it’s been pretty dang cold and snowy recently! Today’s Tuesday Telecast will be a little shorter as there aren’t too many updates to give you all.
First I wanted to say thank you to everyone who has participated in the online locals we’ve been having for a couple of weeks now. Just this past Friday we had 12 people compete in the Rocket Leauge event which was just fantastic to see. Even though we are only a couple of weeks into these online events, we have already given out over $100 of prize money. All things considered, these locals have gone pretty smoothly. Only a couple of times have we encountered lag or poor connections. Most everyone being in Central Iowa probably helps that significantly. Of course, we can’t wait to have these locals actually at the club on LAN so that we don’t have to worry about any of that and the competitive integrity can be 100%. Until then, we are happy to do this and glad others are enjoying it as well.
Next I wanted to give a massive shout out to two of our newest Founding Members Meaty and PatientRex. They will be receiving their exclusive Founding Member t-shirt and pin as well as receiving a private tour of the space. Now they will get to enter any of these online events for free, they will be able to enter any online league we run for free, and will receive special recognition in the Discord. Even with all of this value, we can’t express how much it means to us for you to take that step in becoming a Founding Member even though we haven’t even opened the gaming center. Thanks for helping us build this from the ground up.
On the docket this week is more of the same. Smash Bros online local at 7pm on Thursday, Rocket League at 7pm on Friday, and Warzone at 1pm on Saturday. Look out for an announcement later this week in regards to our first event that we will have on a Sunday. We intend to do some rotating games on Sunday’s at 1pm and our first will likely tie in to the Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War league we are attempting to start. Remember, if you want to play in a competitive CoD league that has weekly matches, a league table, two tournaments, and significant cash prizes, be sure to sign up on our website. We have 11 people committed already, just need 9 more so that we can have at least 5 teams of 4 to start the league. It’s going to be a lot of fun.
Otherwise thought that does it for this week’s update. As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions and we’ll be happy to get back to you. Have a great day and who knows, maybe Spring is on the horizon. Happy Gaming!
