Tuesday Telecast June 15, 2021

Good Afternoon and welcome to the 24th Tuesday Telecast from Des Moines Gaming Club. We haven’t missed any since we started back on January 5th and look where we are now. 6 months later and two days from the start of our Grand Opening Weekend. We couldn’t be more excited to finally open the club up and start to have folks coming in. Today’s telecast will attempt to answer any questions you may have about the Grand Opening Weekend such as hours, what it is you can do at the club, and any special sales or giveaways that will be going on. Of course if you still have any questions please feel free to reach out to us via email at info@dsmgamingclub.com, or message us on Facebook or Twitter. We are working on getting a business phone number too but that is still in the works.

Our Grand Opening Weekend event will start at Noon on Thursday. The hours for both Thursday and Friday will be Noon to 9pm. Then on Saturday the hours will be Noon to 6pm, and then Sunday will be 10am to 4pm. The reason for the 6pm closing on Saturday is because there is a special event going on at the Runway Studios that will be starting around that time, but moving forward our regular hours will be Noon to 9pm every day except Sunday which will be 10am to 4pm and we will be closed Mondays. The hours are on our Facebook page and are also on our website in the about page. Thankfully the covid-19 numbers have really improved here in Central Iowa since just 6 months ago but the pandemic is not over. Our policy is this: Masks are required in our space. However, if you want to, you can provide proof of vaccination whether that be your vaccine card or even just a legible picture of the card. In that case, you will not have to wear a mask. Safety and a welcoming environment is our top priority for DMGC so this will be our policy indefinitely until the CDC comes out with updated suggestions. We have checked many sources and have spoken with the Iowa Association of Business and Industry and have confirmed that our policy is within our rights to uphold. We will provide masks to folks who want one and do not have one and we will have plenty of hand sanitizer on hand as well. Cleaning the equipment and surfaces regularly will of course be in our process as well.

Everyone who comes into the space will get 1 free hour of gameplay for testing out the equipment if they want to. I will also be giving tours and answering any questions folks may have. Throughout the Grand Opening weekend Monthly Memberships will be 10% off and Annual Memberships will be 15% so it will certainly be the time to become a member. When you do so you will solidify your status as Founding Members of Des Moines Gaming Club, you will receive a Founding Member T-shirt, an exclusive DMGC pin, you will have significantly reduced hourly rates, and most importantly you will have access to member only leagues and tournaments. Finally something cool we want to do with Founding Members is to have them give their input on the club. For example if enough members come together and say hey we think you should offer this game, then we will get it. Also, we plan to create a Monthly Members meeting where members can voice their opinions and concerns and bring forward any suggestions. We want this club to be by gamers and for gamers.

We will also be doing our big Dymin Systems giftbasket giveaway. Our corporate sponsor Dymin Systems, located in Urbandale specializes in PCs, PC parts, and PC support. The basket is worth about $500 and has a gaming mouse, gaming keyboard, $100 giftcard to Dymin Systems and much more. Do not miss your chance to win this amazing prize. Also, just FYI but members get to enter their name twice.

Everyone at DMGC is super excited to finally be opening up and we can’t wait to share our space with the gamers of Des Moines and Central Iowa.

Now, for a bit of esports Industry News. Nintendo Direct just finished up and fans of the Legend of Zelda finally got some more info on Breath of the Wild 2. A brand new trailer showing some never-before-seen gameplay was revealed as well as the fact that the game will come out sometime in 2022.

The Apex Legends Global Series Championship took place on Sunday and after more than year of build up, it certainly lived up to the hype. In the biggest Apex event we’ve seen, the 20 best teams in the world played 9 matches and finally a winner was crowned. Kungarna shocked fans by winning it all and took home the $265,000 first place prize. In total, 2.58 million dollars was awarded. The final was a lot of fun to watch and I personally believe Apex Legends is only getting started on the esports scene.

Finally, YouTubers and TikTokers held several boxing matches between some of their prominent creators. As you know whether you watched or not, the boxing was not great but drama was stirred. I can’t deny it’s a genius idea if you want to gain more of a following and make a lot of money! The realness factor is just a little lacking in my opinion.

That’l do it for it us today. Thanks so much for watching and see you this weekend.
